AD R&D Forum - developing the strategy

ADBA PRESS RELEASE

The Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association will bring together academia and industry on the 6 November at this autumn’s R&D Forum in Bristol to formulate an R&D Strategy for the AD industry.

Featuring an update on the progress of WRAP’s Driving Innovation in AD Programme, presentations from the projects being taken through from the feasibility to development stage, talks on how to make the most of R&D tax credits, an introduction to the EU Environmental Technology Verification programme, and facilitated workshops to finalise the short, medium and long term R&D strategy, this event is an excellent opportunity to find out what research is being undertaken, understand how you can get involved, hear how your business could benefit from R&D and network with relevant industry and academic representatives.

Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive, ADBA:

The industry has suffered from a lack of R&D in key areas to date.

Recognising the difficulties facing the sector we decided to work with our members and the wider industry to put together an AD R&D Strategy to help drive focused AD research and development and identify and fill gaps in knowledge, avoid repetition, provide better return on R&D investment and allow better exploitation of existing knowledge.

At this event we will bring together industry and academia with a view to ensuring that R&D investment in the future is directed to where it is most needed and prioritised to provide the answers the industry needs.

Elise Cartmell, Head of Cranfield Water Science Institute, Cranfield University:

ADBA’s R&D Forum in April 2012 was one of the best conference events of the year. Well organised and attended it brought academia and industry together and delivered a constructive dialogue to support industry R&D priorities. Aiming to attend next time – yes.
