Who are we working with?

Steering Group

We have an active Best Practice Steering Group that is made up of representatives from key organisations, including other trade associations, professional bodies and industry groups. Between them, the group represent most parts of the AD industry, ensuring that our engagement is as wide as possible. This group plays a key role in the development of the scheme, helping to define its priorities and scope, shape its delivery and contribute to outputs. The group is chaired by Dr Amaya Arias-Garcia, a process engineer and project manager with over 15 years of experience in developing and implementing engineering solutions in the environmental sector.

The group includes representatives from: Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), CNA Hardy (insurers), Country Land and Business Association (CLA), Energy Networks Association (ENA), Environmental Services Association (ESA), Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM), Jelf Insurance Brokers, National Farmers Union (NFU), National Farmers Union Cymru, National Farmers Union Scotland, Renewable Energy Association (REA), Water UK, Waste Resources Action Plan (WRAP), and Zero Waste Scotland.

We are extremely grateful to all of those on the Steering Group for their invaluable contributions.

Regulators and Government

We are grateful to the Environment Agency (EA), Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for the input they have given to this project. We will continue to work closely with the regulators as the project progresses. We are also in touch with Defra and their Scottish counterparts, who are supportive of the scheme in principle.

Industry

We are working with operators, developers, consultants and technology suppliers to ensure that the scheme is beneficial to all stakeholders and is an accurate reflection of current best practice in the AD industry. Whether you're an ADBA member or not, get in touch with us and get involved.
